Remembering the life and activism of Percy Berry

percy-berry

In July 2025, Percy Berry, a Justice Advisor with CTJA, passed away. He brought joy and laughter to everyone around him. He always had a smile on his face. He was quick with a joke. He kept us all laughing — often when we needed it most.

In his two years with CTJA, Percy used his lived experience to improve the world around him. He advocated fiercely for others, spoke directly with lawmakers at the Capitol, and gave his time and energy to help change laws and change minds.

He cared deeply about justice, about community, and about making sure all kids get the support they need and deserve. Percy leaves behind a legacy that will continue to guide and inspire us at CTJA.

We miss him deeply. He left us far too soon.
